The Dawn
In late 2023, we were ready for our next opportunity after having spent nearly a decade together at Borrego Solar. Our diverse team of experts realized that we had a shared vision to build a unique EPC from the ground up, redefining standards in renewable energy.

Aquila was founded by a team that had spent years building renewable energy projects together. We saw an opportunity to apply the lessons of the past while creating a company designed for the future. With a shared commitment to excellence, accountability, and innovation, we came together to build an EPC platform focused on delivering projects with intent and integrity.

More than a Name
Finding a name which embodied our vision of environmental stewardship and community empowerment was important. We were inspired by CEO Brian Barker’s influential work on a community-driven solar project at the Aquila Game Reserve, which provided hundreds of jobs and helped revitalize the town of Tousrivier.
